It’s time for hard-working Canadians to get a bigger share of the pie. Our policies for families and workers have already been making a real difference in the lives of Canadians - and today Justin Trudeau announced a key piece of our plan to make life more affordable.
It all adds up, friend.
Groceries. Phone bills. Child care. Even with our strong economy and record unemployment, it can still be tough to make ends meet. For too long, too many middle class families have been feeling stretched. Taxes, fees, and bills pile up while wages have largely stayed the same.
It’s time for hard-working Canadians to get a bigger share of the pie. Our policies have already been making a real difference in the lives of Canadians – and today Justin Trudeau announced a key piece of our plan to make life more affordable.
By lowering taxes for the middle class and cutting cell phone bills, our Liberal team will put more than $1,500 per year back in the pockets of hardworking Canadian families.
Under our plan, middle class Canadians won’t pay taxes on the first $15,000 of income they earn – saving the average family about $600 each year. This means that about 700,000 of the lowest-income Canadians will pay no federal tax at all and another 38,000 Canadians will be lifted out of poverty.
A re-elected Liberal government will also cut cell phone bills by 25 per cent, saving the average Canadian family of four nearly $1000 a year.
Unlike the Liberal plan, Andrew Scheer’s plan gives a tax cut to the wealthiest one percent. In his plan, a Canadian making $40,000 will get less than a person making $400,000.
Andrew Scheer and his Conservatives voted against the Canada Child Benefit, against cutting taxes for the middle class, and against a stronger Canada Pension Plan. The choice is clear: go back to the failed Conservative policies of the past, or Choose Forward and keep building on the progress we’ve made.
With so much on the line for millions of Canadians, we’re calling on you just days before our crucial end-of-Q3 fundraising deadline to help ensure we can keep moving forward.
Chip in now to support the 2019 Re-election Fund and help Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team earn another mandate in this important election.
