Dear Jack:

Before 2020 draws to a close, we want to pause and thank you for your interest in our work at the AMERICAN CENTER FOR TRANSFORMING EDUCATION (ACTE).

As part of Discovery Institute, the ACTE works with state legislators, policymakers, and parents to PROMOTE SYSTEMIC CHANGE to our nation’s education system so that it WELL SERVES THE FAMILIES THAT UTILIZE IT.

According to 2020 data from World Population Review, EDUCATION IN THE US FALLS 26TH OVERALL, with academic scores placing 17th in reading, 23rd in science, and 31st in math despite leading the world in education spending — over $700 billion annually. Today, 70% OF OUR CHILDREN DO NOT RECEIVE THE EDUCATION REQUIRED TO BE PREPARED FOR LIFE and the globally competitive career workforce.

The ACTE promotes PARENTAL EMPOWERMENT OF SCHOOL CHOICE in all forms, including legislative tools such as education savings accounts, vouchers, tax-credit scholarships, and charter schools. Yet, we recognize that a large percentage of students will continue to attend their local traditional public school. Therefore, we are working simultaneously to PROMOTE SCHOOL CHOICE while also strategically working to ENHANCE AND IMPROVE THE OPERATIONS OF OUR NATION'S PUBLIC SCHOOLS. We are implementing a game plan for how to TRANSFORM K-12 EDUCATION within a state. That state then serves as a template which other states can replicate.

WE WORK AT THE STATE LEVEL TO IMPROVE OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS' QUALITY OF TEACHING, LEADERSHIP, AND GOVERNANCE. Through state-level reforms, we aim to fundamentally change how educational leaders are trained and selected, and expand the flexibility given to those leaders because we recognize the critical component of change in any industry is leadership. THOSE NEW EDUCATIONAL LEADERS LEVERAGING THEIR ENHANCED FLEXIBILITY WILL LEAD TO THE TRANSFORMATION OF SCHOOLS — WITH STUDENTS AS THE ULTIMATE BENEFICIARIES.

Our financial supporters play an essential role in fueling our work. Their investment has allowed for outstanding positioning and progress throughout 2020. As our financial base increases, we will be able to expand our timely educational efforts further.

We want to invite you to participate in this vital work through A YEAR-END GIFT OF $100, $500, $1,000 OR MORE ([link removed]) . All donations will be specifically allocated to the AMERICAN CENTER FOR TRANSFORMING EDUCATION and will make our mission of empowering students and their family a reality.
