We’re sure you’ve seen the headlines: “Grassroots donors are powering the fight to take back the Senate.” “Progressive activists turned Georgia blue.” “Biden’s win powered by the people.”
These headlines, and the visibility they bring, validate what we’ve always known to be true: grassroots action gets the job done.
It was grassroots activism that turned out a record number of voters from all walks of life and ended Trump’s disastrous presidency. It was grassroots activism that reminded us that we have a chance of taking back the Senate and making progress on voting rights, reproductive justice, access to affordable health care, climate action, and even more in the next cycle.
John, if we want to continue laying the groundwork needed to reform a system that favors the few, then the work starts with these runoffs in Georgia -- but it only continues from there. And if we want to make an impact in this fight, we need to ramp up our budget.
Women, especially women of color, have proven time and time again that they can lead the fight for change in this country. Whether they’re in Georgia, Pennsylvania, or Florida, we need to support the countless women doing work on the ground and ensure their voices are heard.
