This has been a hard year for so many people around the world. What started as an exciting year of celebrations of OutRight’s 30th anniversary quickly turned into a year of tremendous challenge as we witnessed extreme suffering in our global community.

I’m very proud that OutRight could step up and launch the largest global Covid LGBTIQ Emergency Fund. 

And I’m grateful to say, that because of the incredible support of corporations, foundations, and individuals like you, we have given out $1 million US dollars to date, to 125 organizations in 64 countries reaching over 50,000 people!


Donate to support LGBTIQ equality
This is what one of our grantees in Pakistan had to say after they helped 100 people:

“This is the first experience that we as transgender men have ever had of being considered for any grant. And with respect. For the first time, we feel like we are part of this society. Our prayers and wishes are with your team and donors who were concerned about our need in this pandemic period. Thank you so much to you all.”


I think many of us feel we want to leave 2020 behind but as we look to 2021, we have a lot to do. With almost 70 countries that still criminalize same-sex relations and persecution of trans communities in many more, we have to keep fighting. We will only be successful with the support of people like you who value solidarity and think beyond national borders.
