FTC announces crackdown on deceptively marketed CBD products

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced the first legal crackdown on deceptive claims in the growing CBD product market. Many companies have made scientifically unsupported claims that their products could treat serious health conditions, including cancer, heart disease and others. The FTC is currently taking action against six companies for such claims, sounding a warning bell for other companies that may be considering making similar claims themselves and bringing into question what, if any, health benefits exist in these products.
