Across this country, people are suffering and are in need of direct relief. Rent is due. Food is needed.

Now, momentum is finally building in Congress for a bipartisan COVID relief package.

But we need to INSIST that any COVID relief bill includes direct relief checks for those most in need.

Mitch McConnell and Republicans in the Senate have delayed needed relief for months, demanding a provision that would allow employers to force workers to risk their lives in unsafe conditions with no consequences.

Meanwhile, a third of our neighbors can't afford to pay their rent and mortgage. Workers lack adequate protection and health care coverage.

Nearly 800,000 people are applying for unemployment each week.

We need to bail the people out -- and stop putting corporations before people.
