Building a more peaceful foreign policy with you

Dear friend of the Quincy Institute,

They say that you can judge someone by the reputation of his or her critics. At QI, we are proud that some of the most ferocious proponents of endless war are our loudest detractors.

Just this week, the wildly misnamed Foundation for the Defense of Democracies—an organization that supported the invasion of Iraq, pushes for war with Iran, favors a cold war with China, and bemoans the American public’s opposition to endless wars—published a report that directly advocates doubling down on military domination and mentions the Quincy Institute more than a dozen times.

FDD’s obsession with QI has not gone unnoticed. The New Republic writes that the group’s report “seems to be a response… to the work of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, a newish think tank that preaches for restraint in foreign policy and demilitarizing American diplomacy.”  The article asserts that QI “is living rent free in FDD’s head.”

The New Republic says Quincy Institute, “reflect[s] a slow but important shift underway: Some members of the foreign policy establishment are beginning to question the moral and strategic failures of the war on terror—much to the horror of armchair hawks, national security officials, and holders of think tank sinecures subsidized by Gulf oil sheikhdoms and military contractors.”

Washington’s foremost proponents of endless war fear the change we are bringing to Washington, DC.

Brick by brick, we are laying the foundation for a new foreign policy centered on diplomacy and military restraint—and that is causing panic among Washington’s leading warmongers.

You can also judge someone by who their supporters are. Please join us in this fight! Together, we can build a foreign policy that makes war the exception and peace the norm.

Please make a 100% tax-deductible gift to the Quincy Institute today!

Without endless war, so much more is possible.
