Not going to lie: in a moment, I’m going to ask if you can contribute to our campaign so we can prepare for the work ahead in 2021. But before I do, I hope you’ll hear me out and let me explain why your donation matters so much right now.

I know when we successfully defeated Donald Trump and elected Joe Biden to clean up his mess in the White House this November, we all let out a massive sigh of relief. Our tireless work to defend our democracy and fight back against this administration’s attacks on our most basic human rights over the past four years finally paid off.

But unfortunately, we didn’t succeed in taking back the Senate (yet), and we unexpectedly lost some of our frontline members in the House to Republican challengers. That was hard to witness, but now is the time we pick ourselves up and look to the fights ahead.

One of those is electing Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock in the January 5th Georgia runoffs and taking back the Senate. The second is continuing to build public pressure on Republicans and Mitch McConnell to come together with Democrats to save lives and provide desperately needed financial relief to millions of Americans who are out of work and struggling to pay the bills during this unprecedented pandemic.

As we rebuild, we can’t stop working to make progress on the other issues impacting everyday Americans: lowering the costs of healthcare and prescription drugs, tackling the affordable housing crisis, passing criminal justice reform, increasing the minimum wage and creating more jobs — you name it.

Our fight for the people is far from over. In fact, we’re just getting started.

But fundraising for our campaign has severely slowed ever since December started, and right now it looks like my team is going to come up short on our end-of-year financial goal to start 2021 off strong.
