Friend -
Today we’re headed to the West Coast to talk with Tim Phan who was a Community Analyst with the Democratic National Campaign this past campaign cycle. If you haven’t yet, please give $25, $50, $250 or more so our critical trainings can happen throughout 2021.
Q: In what ways has re:power’s training supported you?
A: Being involved with a Black and POC led organization like re:power, who are very intentional about uplifting POC voices, gives me an organizing home in a way that mainstream Democratic organizations can struggle with.
Q: When have you felt most proud of your work?
A: I was most proud of being able to help with voter protection during a pandemic to beat an atrocious administration, who was obviously and intentionally trying to stop the vote. This gave me a real sense of pride - to work with and see so many people fighting to make our voices count.
Q: How have you applied what you learned from re:power?
A: One of the most valuable things that I have taken from re:power is being critical of data and being critical of the gaps in how we approach talking to communities of color. I now understand how to better post constructive questions around data modeling. re:power also helped me find my voice and be courageous in conversations.
More stories coming your way next week! re:power is providing our people with the training and organizing homes they need to change the face of power in this country. Join us by giving $25, $50, $250 or more today!
In solidarity,
Karundi
