Joe Biden should not let BlackRock execs run the White House. Biden has picked Brian Deese to lead the National Economic Council and Adewale Adeyemo as deputy Treasury secretary— both Deese and Adeyemo worked for BlackRock, the world’s largest financier of weapon manufacturers and private prisons.

Send Biden a message and tell him: Keep BlackRock execs out of the White House and choose a cabinet that will put human rights before war profiteering.

BlackRock's investments profit from war and conflict. It is the weapons companies, private prisons, and asset management firms like BlackRock that have gained a profit from war and migration. By investing in publicly traded weapons companies such as Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics, BlackRock holds a stake in wars that these companies supply and, therefore, profits from the conflict that drives people from their homes in desperation.

BlackRock has shady business dealings. Its CEO Larry Fink has close relations with the Saudi Crown Prince, who is responsible for leading a war on Yemen, imprisoning women's rights activists, and the murder of the Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

It is mind-blowing that Biden chose two BlackRock executives — Deese and Adeyemo — who kept quiet about BlackRock's war investments and its business relations with the violent Saudi regime. Biden must develop a cabinet that will go against the grain and uphold peace and human rights instead of profiting from war, violence, and people’s sufferings. Sign the petition to Joe Biden and tell him: Keep BlackRock war financiers out of the White House and pick people who will put human rights before war profiteering.
