John, I hope you are well.
I don't particularly like doing this, but I need to personally ask for your help and your donation right now: Can you pitch in $10 or anything you can afford to our grassroots Democratic campaign? >>

Our campaign is facing our first major public fundraising deadline since we made history in November.
Believe me, I know how big of a problem it is that money still rules our political system. It leads to corruption and the benefit of corporations over people.
That's exactly why I made a vow to reject ALL donations from corporate PACs. My integrity is not for sale, John -- I'm accountable to the good working families of the Bronx who elected me.
But if we start missing our fundraising goals this early, we'll be setting our progressive movement back before we even get started. I can't allow that, John.
So, I'm asking you directly now: Can I count on you to find a way to pitch in $10 or anything you can afford before midnight? We're still short of our benchmark $10,000 goal, and we need to pick up the pace. >>
