[1]Bowman for Congress
John,
I'm a Black man who grew up in public housing and rent-controlled
apartments. For ten years, I was a middle school principal in the Bronx. I
didn't ever envision myself becoming a politician.
But that all changed when I received a nomination to become a Justice
Democrat and run for Congress in New York's 16th District. And now, I'm
headed to Washington in January to represent my community in Congress and
fight for progressive values.
I'm ready to take on this challenge, in part thanks to the support that
Justice Democrats has provided me. They've also supported folks like AOC,
Ayanna Pressley, Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.
Justice Democrats is now gearing up for the 2022 election cycle, starting
with a nomination process to find the next person — community organizer,
frontline worker, middle school principal — to take on the political
establishment. The process kicked off this week, and they need our help to
reach as many folks as they can to find the next group of Justice
Democrats.

When I first met with Justice Democrats after my nomination, there was a
lot about campaigning and politics that I didn't know. But what I did know
was that my community and our families were continuously being failed by a
representative who didn't care about us — and that we could do better.
Justice Democrats provided the training, support, and platform I needed to
be heard. I know that they served as that resource for so many others,
too. They are a vital reason our progressive movement is as big as it is
today, and their work will be even more critical moving forward.
[ [link removed] ]Please split a $3 contribution (or whatever you're
able) today between Justice Democrats and our campaign. Your contribution
will help JD recruit, train, and organize our communities so that we can
elect the next generation of diverse working-class leaders who are
committed to racial, social, and economic justice.
Peace and love,
Jamaal Bowman
