Friends,
As we look back this year, we are continuously humbled by the work of frontline community leaders who continue to be the foundational pillars of support for their communities. And we'd like to use this space to center the dignity of those communities by asking philanthropy to #MoveMoneyNow ([link removed]) .
In these last weeks, we are calling on funders to keep the pedal on the gas and show up for marginalized communities who are still hurting in this tough economic time. We are working to meet the needs of communities to build power, infrastructure, and lift up community leaders doing the work on the ground, and we are asking philanthropic partners to do the same.
History will remember those who stepped up to the plate. We need to move beyond the holiday hustle and end-of-year plans to prioritize shifting capital to BIPOC communities in significant ways that will build collective influence and power to rethink how our economy works.
Read our note to funders, here ([link removed]) .
There isn't a magic switch to flip around the holidays to propel us into the future we want to see—not one set off by one-time donations or promises of future change. We know that all good change comes through persistence, responsiveness, and seeing ourselves as an integral part of a more equitable future.
The future is being created now.
Support a better economy. ([link removed])
