While we celebrate that Trump is leaving, the damage caused by his administration is profound and our work to undo this damage is just beginning. Reverse the biggest threats to our waterways in decades. The Trump administration's actions have left nearly a fifth of our rivers and streams, and more than half our wetlands unprotected from toxic runoff and contamination, and allow factory farms to pollute with impunity. We’re suing to stop this emergency for our rivers, lakes, streams and millions of acres of wetlands.
Restore National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) protections. This bedrock law requires federal agencies to review the environmental impacts of their proposed actions. It has stood for decades as the “magna carta” of federal environmental laws. We’re challenging new rules that speed up, weaken and eliminate many of the NEPA requirements that have protected our environment and communities.
Challenge the repeal of the meat safety protections that have been in place for more than 100 years. The rollback of these protections will effectively eliminate the federal inspection of pork carcasses for conditions such as septicemia and other causes of food-borne illnesses, as slaughter plants will be allowed to police themselves.
Food & Water Watch will be there every step of the way to address the climate crisis by blocking new pipelines and polluting infrastructure, putting a stop to attacks on our water, and protecting communities and the environment from factory farm pollution.
