Dear
Friend,
Thank you so very much!
In the wake of a $14 billion dollar election, more corrupted than
ever by big money from billionaires, bankers, big tech and the usual
suspects — I’m deeply grateful for your support for the party of
people, planet and peace. Your help for our candidates has been heroic
in the face of repression and smears targeting us as the sole
non-corporate, national-scale opposition party — a true sign we’ve
arrived as a force to contend with!
It’s clearer than ever: we Greens are the remedy to America’s sick
political system. That’s why I’m writing at this pivotal moment to
ask: Will you “contribute
to a cure” for this dehumanizing, planet-destroying corporate
political system by becoming a Green Party Monthly Sustainer
today?
This week will make-or-break our Year-End, Monthly
Sustainers Drive. We’ve made excellent progress toward the
goal of 100 new Monthly Sustainers before the end of December, but we
still have a ways to go. Help push us over the
line!
After decades of rule by two parties serving Wall Street and the
war machine, we face crises on virtually all fronts. 1 in 8 are
hungry[i]; 12 million lost health insurance
along with their jobs (adding to 87 million already lacking adequate
coverage)[ii]; 40 million are at risk for
eviction[iii]. And despite nearly
300,000 pandemic deaths and a COVID Great Depression, the
Congressional duopoly is still withholding a second COVID relief
package.
As the Democrats continue to silence and shame their own
progressives, while Biden appoints warmongers and deficit hawks to his
Cabinet, it’s clear that progressive change won’t come from the
Democratic Party. Biden flatly stated this in his promise to Wall
Street donors that “nothing will fundamentally change.”
Congressional progressives are now refusing to use their
make-or-break votes in Pelosi’s leadership bid to force a measly vote
on Medicare for All – a policy 70% of Americans support and which is
essential to solving the COVID crisis. This political cowardice is the
ultimate reality check on the illusion that progressive Democrats will
cure what ails us.
We Greens, on the other hand, are the “political medicine” we’ve
been waiting for, including our agenda for Medicare for All, a Green
New Deal, free college, student debt bailout, a demilitarized foreign
policy and Ranked Choice Voting.
But cures, as you know, require resources. The most powerful
funding program we have is Monthly Sustainer contributions from Greens
like you, contributing what you can afford, over the course of the
year. I’m asking you to become a Green Party Monthly Sustainer
today.
Converging crises make the Green vision more critical than ever.
The widespread rejection of politics as usual[iv][v] makes this vision more possible
than ever. Please pitch in to help move the Green agenda forward, and
make 2021 the year we bring a wave of new Greens into elected office.
Thank you so much!
Dr. Jill Stein 2016 and 2012 Green Party Nominee for
President
P.S. If becoming a Monthly Sustainer does not work for you right
now I would still be very
grateful for a one-time contribution at whatever level you can afford
today. Every contribution helps the Green
Party. Thank you.
