The Actors Fund

Dear Actors Fund Friends,

At a time when it’s more important than ever to stay connected to friends and family, we want to share a few of our ideas on how to do so—safely, from the comfort of your own home!

Plan a viewing party! There are so many festive online shows, including Holidays from the Heart, Drag Out The Holly: A Holiday Drag Extravaganza and Hershey Felder: TCHAIKOVSKY Live from Florence. You can watch with friends and family via the online video chat platform of your choice (Zoom, FaceTime, Google, etc.) and share smiles and laughs as you watch. (And you can take as many snack breaks as you want!)

Give a gift that gives back! Our Holiday Gift Guide is full of creative items and experiences that are not only great gifts, but they also benefit our programs and services for those in need in the performing arts this holiday season. Each item on our list includes a donation component that supports The Fund, and range from “Hooray For 2021” shirts designed by Amanda and Anna Kloots, to craft beer from Curtain Up Beer, to a children’s book about discovering your inner musician. Check back often—we’re updating the list as new projects are shared with us!

Make a donation in someone’s honor to their favorite charity! If you know of a special cause or charity your friends and family are passionate about, you can make a contribution in their honor to show you’re thinking of them.

We hope you’re all staying safe and well, and thank you for your continued support and dedication to the performing arts.

Sunday, December 20, 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT

Eventbrite.com

Tune in for a brand-new live musical experience starring virtuoso pianist, actor and playwright Hershey Felder—broadcast directly into your home!

TCHAIKOVSKY-Live from Florence is the story of the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who found himself in Florence, Italy, multiple times in his life following very difficult experiences at home in Russia. This newly created work for the screen will feature many of Tchaikovsky's beloved compositions, from “The 1812 Overture”, “The Nutcracker”, “4th”, “5th” & “6th Symphonies”, “Piano Concerto 1”, “The Seasons” and more, and will incorporate both filmed and live sequences performed where events actually took place.

Based on the original Our Great Tchaikovsky, the online event will also feature an extended focus on “The Nutcracker Ballet” (in honor of Christmas) as well as Tchaikovsky’s life in Florence, Italy where he spent a good deal of time. TCHAIKOVSKY will be filmed live on-location where Tchaikovsky actually lived and worked in Florence. The event is sure to be an interesting, surprising and engaging musical experience!
