The December after Election Day is always the worst month for online fundraising -- and understandably so!

We won the election. There are no more ads to run, mail pieces to send out, or voters to get to the polls.

But we still have some expenses we need to cover every month, and because this is one of the most competitive districts in the country, we've already begun laying the groundwork for the next election.

I don't need to tell you how important Michigan is when it comes to electoral politics. Our swing state played a pivotal role in deciding the last two presidential elections, and we've seen just how low Republicans are willing to stoop to try to turn our state red.

That's why it's important for my team to keep our campaign operation up and running year round. With so much national focus on Michigan -- and our battleground district in particular -- we can't afford to let our campaign go silent.
