Thomas Kirsch II is the 230th federal judge to be picked by Trump and confirmed. The confirmation of conservative judges has been a priority for Trump and Senator Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

McConnell: Top congressional leaders make 'major headway' on COVID-19 relief deal

“We remain committed to continuing these urgent discussions until we have an agreement,” the Kentucky Republican said. He told reporters that he was optimistic about reaching a deal soon and that the leadership negotiations were “making good progress.”

McConnell says he will 'absolutely' take vaccine to reassure public

McConnell, speaking to reporters, noted his own status as a survivor of polio before that vaccine was developed in the 1950s. “I’m a huge supporter of being vaccinated when you have a substance that you know works,” he said. “And so whenever my turn comes, I’m going to be anxious to take the vaccine and do my part to reassure those who are doubtful about this, that we really need to get the country vaccinated.”
