COVID cases are spiking. Our families are hurting and they need
substantial, recurring survival checks. Now.

The Progressive Caucus, which I chair, is united in our position: Any
COVID relief package MUST include survival checks and enhanced
unemployment assistance -- the two most effective ways to put money
directly in people's pockets.

There are families throughout America who are hungry, cold, and without
paychecks because of our unwillingness to respond at the scale of this
crisis. Millions of people can't afford to put food on the table or pay
rent, utilities, and other bills.

The fact is: People need money in their pockets -- and they need it now.

Mitch McConnell and Republicans in the Senate have delayed urgent relief
for months. As each week passes, nearly one million additional people lose
their jobs. This unprecedented devastation demands solutions that meet the
scale of the crisis. There is no time for delays. We have to deliver or it
will get worse.

So, let's be clear: Any relief bill that does NOT include survival checks
and enhanced unemployment assistance is NOT a relief bill.

I’m urging my colleagues in Congress to immediately pass a robust COVID
relief package that puts money in people’s pockets. It's our duty.
