Friend,

First, the bad news: President Trump’s administration has been the most devastating for climate, conservation, and public lands in the history of our country. Not only that, but he is now using the lame-duck period to do as much damage as possible on his way out the door.

Here are just a few of the lowlights from Donald Trump’s assault on the environment:

-- Rushing to open up thousands of acres of public lands for oil drilling leases, including land in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. He’s in such a hurry to sell off these lands that he’s made them available to fossil fuel companies at absurdly low prices -- the bidding for drilling rights in the Arctic is set to start at just $25 an acre.
-- Repealing over 100 environmental regulations -- including half of the regulations put in place by the Obama administration to prevent another devastating oil spill like Exxon Valdez.
-- Continuing his legacy as the nation’s chief climate change denier by appointing a climate skeptic to a panel that selects the National Medical of Science winner.

Now, the good news: While it will take time to reverse the damage done by President Trump, the end of his disastrous anti-environment administration is in sight. We won’t be sad to say goodbye to the climate deniers and fossil fuel lobbyists Trump has entrusted with our environmental protections and our public lands.

That said, the Biden-Harris administration has its work cut out for it, and we’ll be watching closely to track their progress. To get all the latest updates, make sure to follow Western Values Project on social media.
