Bribery sounds like a horrible thing to do, but there are situations that call for behaviors in which you wouldn't normally participate.

There's a lot more to it than saying, "How much money to make this go away?" Knowing how to bribe someone is a survival skill that could save your life one day - or at least make things go more smoothly.

Over the past few years, I've traveled to and lived in places where it's a way of life. Here's what I've learned about bribing people:

I know some folks are outraged by the very idea of bribery, just as they are outraged by the idea of scavenging supplies. I consider it another tool in my mental arsenal.
