If you were able to join us for this year’s virtual “Farm Aid 2020 On the Road” festival, you might remember hearing Neil Young perform with some back-up chickens and ducks, too. We hope you also remember the powerful voices of farmers all around the country reminding us why they farm:

• Michael Kempley of Grandpa’s Good Earth told us, “I farm because I enjoy being a steward of the land.”
   
• Angie and June Provost said, “We farm because we love agriculture and growing things, and because farming is in our DNA.”
   
• Sara Youmans of Hood Family Farm told us, “I farm because I want to do something tangible to positively impact my community.”
   
• And Doug and Melissa Havemann of Mesquite Field Farm summed it up with, “We’re farmers. We feed people. It’s that simple.”

We heard many more impactful reasons why our essential family farmers do what they do to provide the good food we all need. And there are just as many reasons to support Farm Aid.

Through our hotline, 1-800-FARM-AID, Farm Aid is here for family farmers and ranchers in times of crisis. We provide a listening ear, critical resources to strengthen farmers, and emergency assistance when it’s needed. We’re here for them when disasters – or global pandemics – strike. We’re here for them with a national network of partner organizations we’ve nurtured over 35 years. Together, we work each day to strengthen family farm agriculture and promote fair farm policies.

And we’re here for you too, working to connect eaters and farmers for good food, healthy soil and water, and stronger communities. But we can’t do it without you.
