Christmas is just around the corner and we hope you find time to unwind, recharge and enjoy a book or two!

Whatever your taste in reading, find a cosy spot and curl up with a great book.

  • Our eBooks, eMagazines and eAudio are all totally free to borrow and can be downloaded from the comfort of your home. There are books for children and adults and you can start browsing here.
  • Don't forget, you can still use our Click and Collect service from any of our available libraries to request your favourite reads including children’s books, fiction, large print, non-fiction and spoken word.

Struggling for that perfect gift?

  • From Christmas trees in Market Square to skaters on the Trent, many of the images from our Picture Nottingham website are also available as art prints, canvases, gifts and lots more.

Our opening hours will be slightly different in our libraries over Christmas and New Year so check ahead.

All libraries will be closed from 24 December until 2 January 2021 apart from Bulwell Riverside, Hyson Green St Ann's Valley which will be open 24, 29, 30 and 31 December. 

Always check the website for updates when planning your visit and go to our Coronavirus Page for information on how to use the library safely.

DONT FORGET - our Online Library will still be available for all customers to access 24/7 for online events, eBooks, eAudio, eNewspapers and much more!

As well as lots of new reads our Christmas page is full of fun family activities you can do at home, local events, beautiful historic images of Christmases past, gift ideas and more!


 

NEW... online jigsaws

You can now enjoy some of the great images from our Local Studies collection as an online jigsaw puzzle, including some Christmas ones!

The jigsaws are free to play and you can even choose to change the number of pieces to increase the challenge! 

We add new ones to the collection each week - so keep checking back for a fresh puzzle.

 

Once you’ve enjoyed a few jigsaws why not challenge yourself to our local history quiz.


It's Christmas storytime!

Our storyteller Stacey will be entertaining your little ones with three different Christmas stories next week.
