Your compassion pulled her out of the pit … and set her on a path to restoration

John,

Marley* was trafficked, sold day after day without any choice over her life or her safety.

But two years ago, she was able to escape.

I wish I could tell you that was the happy ending of her story. But no.

After eighth grade, Marley had never been allowed to go to school. So she had no high school diploma. No education. No skills. No ability to find meaningful work, or earn a meaningful paycheck. No way to afford a place to live.

Marley went straight from being sold against her will to being homeless. She was lost.

But your compassion, your generosity, pulled her out of the pit … and set her on a path to restoration.

She was connected to housing assistance resources. When she got a roof over her head, she needed help with utility bills, so we helped her get by until she could stand on her own two feet.

She then enrolled in the online Elevate Academy with our community partner, where she could get her education, receive mentoring, and start truly healing from the trauma of her past.

Marley calls it “a chance to find hope again.”

“I am forever grateful that you have given me this chance to grow,” she recently shared with us.

This Christmas morning, Marley will wake up safe in her home. No one hurting her. A whole new life and bright future with opportunities to look forward to — thanks to you.

Thank you for giving her, and so many other children and youth we serve, such a beautiful gift!
