'Sometimes when you're a celebrity, they're worried if something happens to you they're going to examine it more carefully, and do everything right.'"

Giuliani's comments about his special COVID-19 treatment reveal the unjust reality that is our nation's pandemic response. Trump and his allies continue to sit back and watch as hundreds of thousands of Americans lose their lives from an illness only they get top-notch treatment for.

If Rudy's words sound familiar to you, you're not alone -- WaPo columnist Greg Sargent notes the parallel between them and the Access Hollywood tape where Trump bragged about his ability to get away with sexual assault ("When you're a star, they let you do it").

Trump, Giuliani, and other high-profile lawmakers should not be the only ones getting special treatment -- for COVID-19, for legal matters, or for anything else. We at Progessive Majority are determined to rally behind the progressive leaders who will listen to the experts and follow science, so that ALL Americans are adequately protected from and treated for the coronavirus.
