John,
Right now, we're coming up short of where we need to be for our mid-month fundraising target. And because this month marks our end-of-year fundraising deadline for 2020, it's even more critical we hit our target to show the strength of this movement, right before Jamaal takes office.
Since he won the general election in November, Jamaal has spent his time focusing on legislating and gearing up for his first term in Congress. Our team has been hard at work making sure our progressive movement has the support it needs to grow, from raising over $20,000 for the Georgia Senate runoffs to organizing in our communities for better wages and coronavirus relief.
We're proud of the impact we've been able to have on these crucial and timely causes, John. But it did mean that our own fundraising had to take a back seat — and now, we need to catch up.
Unlike many congressional campaigns, we reject all corporate PAC contributions and lobbyist money. Jamaal also doesn't do call time asking for big checks from wealthy donors so he can focus on legislating in Congress — and it's all because of your support that this is possible.
You can trust that we'll never resort to clickbait-y tactics to try and scare you into contributing. But we will politely ask if you'll chip in to help us continue our important work in growing our progressive movement, and making sure that Jamaal has all the tools he needs to have a successful first term in Congress.
Thank you,
Team Bowman
