Friend,
A few weeks ago we were all stunned to learn that for the first time in three years undocumented immigrants could apply for DACA protections following a victory for our movement in a critical court decision. This is our victory!
Since then, the United We Dream DACA Application Fund — our financial support fund for undocumented folks to cover the $495 per person DACA application fee — has seen a massive influx in people applying for help. We set a year-end goal of raising $100,000 to help undocumented immigrants in need of financial assistance, and thanks to you we’ve already raised over $44,000!!
We still have a long way to go if we want to help everyone who’s signed up — we’ve gotten over 300 applications this last week alone, and I’m reaching out today in the hopes we can count on you at this pivotal time of need. Will you make a donation of any amount to the DACA Application Fund today? Every one of the hard-earned dollars you contribute will be redistributed to undocumented immigrants in need of financial support to apply for DACA protections.

Being undocumented without DACA means no job, no driver’s license, no financial aid, no in-state tuition, no social security number, and no government-issued IDs. I should know — I, myself, am a DACA recipient. I also know firsthand what it’s like to suffer at the hands of deportation because, for 13 years, my family and I have been separated from my father, who was deported over a broken taillight. I lived my life in fear that the same would happen to me from that moment on.
Six years later, DACA changed everything. And now, because initial DACA applications are being accepted again, my younger brother and my cousin are able to apply for the first time. My cousin has been waiting to apply since 2017 when the Trump administration killed DACA. Thousands of applicants like my brother and cousin are now rushing to get all their documents in order. But so many will not be able to obtain protections without our financial assistance.
When you make a contribution to the DACA Application Fund, you’re having a direct impact on the lives of thousands of young people like me who have been able to get good jobs, access higher education, and live life without fear of deportation. So, i have to ask one more time: will you make a contribution to the DACA Application Fund to help cover the cost of 500 undocumented immigrants’ application fees?

People like me are preparing to reapply, while others like my brother and cousin are preparing to apply for the first time — including tracking down their $495 each! Thanks for anything you can pitch in today to help folks like me and my family.
