We don't have much timel left, John.
The life-threatening, NRA-backed "no-duty-to-retreat" bill is mere days from being sent to Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s desk. John, if this bill becomes law, Gov. DeWine is giving Ohioans a license to kill.
Last week, an Ohio Senate committee passed SB 383: a bill that would legally allow Ohioans to shoot and kill another person anywhere they feel threatened — rather than making any attempt to retreat from the conflict. And the next stop is Gov. DeWine’s desk.
That's why we need to hear from you right now, John. We have been fighting tooth and nail against this bill for months, sending 14,300 emails and calls to Gov. DeWine. But if we are going to stop this bill from becoming a law, we need even more support.
We are 5,700 emails away from 20,000 emails sent to directly to Gov. DeWine’s inbox—will you sign our petition today and demand that Gov. DeWine vetoes this dangerous bill into law? >> [[link removed]?]

Stand Your Ground laws don’t protect anyone. In fact, they have been proven to increase gun violence: One study by the American Medical Association found that Florida's implementation of a “Stand Your Ground” law led to a 32% increase in gun-related homicides. Our governors should be focused on passing sensible, evidence-based laws that will prevent gun violence — not laws proven to cause gun homicides.
We need your voice more than ever, John, so that we can show Gov. DeWine there is national outrage over this dangerous bill. No matter what state you live in, will you sign our petition and show Gov. DeWine that our country is steadfastly against these life-threatening laws? >> [[link removed]?]

Our fight isn’t over yet, but this could be our final chance. We cannot afford to let the NRA win. In solidarity,
