Sign the petition: No more government shutdowns

Friends,

We all remember what a disaster the government shutdown was for Virginia, for our federal workers and contractors, and for our country. Unfortunately, if the White House and Congress can’t get their act together and pass a spending bill in the next few days, there’s a chance of another government shutdown happening this month.

Mark Warner is working hard in the Senate to prevent another shutdown from inflicting more financial pain on Virginians — especially in the middle of a pandemic — and he needs your help right now.

Sign Mark’s petition to demand the outgoing Trump administration and Congress pass a bi-partisan deal to prevent another shutdown.

Back in January 2019, in the midst of the last shutdown, Mark Warner introduced the "Stop Shutdowns Transferring Unnecessary Pain and Inflicting Damage in the Coming Years Act,” or the Stop STUPIDITY Act.

The bill is simple: If the president and Congress can’t reach a deal to fund the government, then they shut down; but the rest of our government stays open to continue serving the people. That’s the way it should be.

But right now, we need to make sure the federal government doesn’t shut down due to a lack of funding in the middle of a pandemic. That’s why Mark is fighting for a bi-partisan deal to keep the government open and provide relief for those impacted by the virus.

Add your name to Sen. Warner’s petition calling on the White House and Congress to pass a bi-partisan deal and prevent a government shutdown.

Thank you,
Team Warner
