For months, Mitch McConnell and the GOP have played hardball on the stimulus negotiations. They pushed for corporate liability shields while brushing off our demands for another round of $1,200 survival checks.
It’s time for us to rise up.
We’re drawing a red line. If the package doesn’t include direct checks and unemployment relief, AOC is voting ‘NO.’
We write unlimited blank checks for war. We write $2 trillion checks for tax cuts for the rich and large corporations. But, our pockets are suddenly empty when it comes to fighting for working people? It shouldn’t be this way.
The entire Congressional Progressive Caucus is united behind a singular demand on the stimulus fight. We’re flexing our muscle in Congress, because volunteers, donors and grassroots supporters like you put us here.
Mitch McConnell says he’s eager to finish up a deal and get home. Well, we’ve got news for him. Unless the checks are included, we aren’t voting ‘yes.’ And if we have to spend Christmas Day on the House floor to get these checks to the American people, we’ll do it.
