It’s ridiculous that after all this time, Donald Trump’s tantrums are still being given a platform.
The lame duck took to Fox News shortly after the election to deliver a rant that the Washington Post’s Editorial Board is calling “one of the most dangerous of his presidency.”
“Mr. Trump issued claim after incoherent claim about vote rigging -- machines switched thousands of votes, dead people voted, mail-in ballots were ‘phony,’ poll watchers ‘weren’t allowed,’” the Board writes of the tirade. “Proving there is no core national institution he will not besmirch, Mr. Trump attacked the judicial system for failing to ratify his lies and suggested that the Justice Department and the FBI are in on the conspiracy.”
The Post’s Editorial Board called for Republicans to finally speak out against Trump’s lies -- and we at When Democrats Turn Out can’t help but agree with them. Staying silent is simply not forgivable. But of course in the weeks since Trump’s tirade, many in the GOP have stayed silent, and many have even echoed Trump’s ludicrous claims.
When Democrats Turn Out is determined to help maintain the integrity of our democracy and repudiate Trump’s lies, especially when so many of Trump’s supporters aren't acknowledging reality: Joe Biden is president-elect of the United States of America. We’re working around the clock to wash away Trump’s influence from our country -- but we’re falling short of the fundraising goals we need to hit if we want to keep our efforts going. Right now, we’re $1,592 shy of where we need to be.
