We’re not going to lie, John xxxxxx: December has been a really tough month for grassroots fundraising so far. The energy just isn’t the same since the election concluded, and while we certainly achieved some major victories by electing Joe Biden president and holding our Democratic majority in the House, we’ve got our work cut out for us in 2021.

As long as Republicans hold control of the Senate and Mitch McConnell is in charge, they’ll try to block the progressive legislation Hakeem is working so hard to pass in the House to lift up our communities. Even in this dangerous stage of the coronavirus pandemic, McConnell is refusing to pass a pandemic relief package to help the millions of Americans who are struggling — it’s shameful.

We need a strong, united front to put pressure on McConnell and his party to do right by the American people so we can tackle this pandemic and get our country back on track. That’s why it’s imperative that we build the resources we need now to prepare for the fights ahead in 2021.

Tonight is our campaign’s final mid-month fundraising deadline of 2020, and an important marker of where we’ll likely stand by the time the year ends.
