Friend,

There are nearly eight billion of us living our lives on our little blue
orb spinning through space.

It shouldn't take a global pandemic to show the world that we really are
in this together.

But perhaps 2020 will be the wake-up call our planet needed to come
together. Just maybe, enough of us will begin to tackle our other common
threats: The climate emergency. Inequality. Poverty. Famine. Injustice.

Humanity must move faster, with more collective compassion, than we've
ever moved in the past, but that can only happen if we are telling the
right stories, reporting the painful realities, and sharing our common
dreams for a better future we know is possible. We can do that. We must
do that.

This is the world we live in. This is the world we cover.

Common Dreams is not your normal news outlet. We don't want clicks. We
don't want advertising dollars. We want the world to be a better place.
We want the good side to win and the bad guys to fall.

But we can't do it alone. It doesn't work that way. We need you.

Today we are launching our End-of-Year campaign to make sure we are here
to bring you the news in 2021. We must raise $100,000 by December 31.
Can you pitch in right now?
