Dear Friends,

Researchers on board Sea Shepherd’s Martin Sheen have discovered a possible new species of whale off the west coast of Mexico. This breakthrough has received international media attention and may prove to be the 24th species of beaked whale known to science.

Beaked whales are exceptionally difficult to study and very little is known about their geographic range and population sizes. The important research carried out by Sea Shepherd’s Science Department on our vessels around the world allows us to gain valuable insights into these mysterious animals so that we may better understand how to protect them. Learn more about this exciting find HERE.

Discoveries like this one are only possible due to your generous support. Thank you for your commitment to protecting marine ecosystems and wildlife even during these challenging times. Your gift is truly making a difference.

Right now, your support will go even further. All gifts received before December 31, 2020 will be matched up to a maximum of $105,000. Please donate today at seashepherd.org/sea2020.

From all of us at Sea Shepherd, thank you for standing by our side on the front line of ocean conservation.

For the Ocean,
