John,
Bayer is trying to take away our right to protest against its bee-killing
   pesticides.
Activists are fighting back in court -- but they’re running out of funds
to pay the lawyers, so they've asked for your help, John.
Can you chip in to stop Bayer's attack on democracy?

Bayer is hellbent on shutting down peaceful protests of beekeepers.
So a group of activists is taking Bayer to court.

                      John,
A group of brave activists has been fighting Bayer in court to defend our
right to protest, but they're running out of money fast.
And the stakes couldn’t be higher: if Bayer wins, it could shut down
protests and call the police any time that peaceful beekeepers want to
protest against its toxic pesticides. Other corporations could follow
suit. It's a nightmare for free speech.
But the battle is not over -- with your help, Bayer could still lose.

to stand up to Bayer's bullying?
Bayer tried everything it could to shut down peaceful protests at its
annual stockholder meeting in 2017. Back then, it had just announced its
plan to merge with Monsanto -- and protests that year were going to be
   bigger than ever.
But Bayer was having none of it. Bayer's bosses contacted law enforcement
and after feeding them lies about how dangerous they expected the protest
to be -- they even falsely claimed that beekeepers posed a terror threat
-- the police came in to try and shut the whole thing down. Only a
last-minute legal injunction stopped Bayer from getting its way. And
beekeepers and others have been fighting this legal battle ever since.
It's important they win, because protests at shareholder meetings can make
a real difference: only last year our protests led to shareholders not
ratifying the Bayer board -- a historic slap in the face for Bayer's
   bosses.
If these activists don’t prevail, it will mean that any company in Germany
will be able to use the power of the police and courts to ban protests.
John, we can't let that happen.

today to stop Bayer from trampling on our rights?
Our right to protest peacefully is on the line, but we know with SumOfUs
members like you involved, we can win this. Why? Because time and time
again when you've been called on to stand up to corporate bullies like
Bayer, you make your voice heard loud and clear.
Just last year, nearly 400,000 of you came together to win an EU-wide ban
on thiacloprid, another one of Bayer's toxic pesticides. Let's show Bayer
we won't lie down and let our free speech rights be trampled on.
Lawsuits like these are expensive and drag on for years. If we raise more
than these activists need, it will go towards powering our campaigning
against Bayer and its bee-killing pesticides.
