Happy holidays from IYD! Whether you're celebrating one holiday happening this December, a few, or none at all, we hope you enjoy a peaceful holiday season! Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Years might be top of mind for most folks, but here at IYD we're looking just a few days ahead.

Just 4 days after New Years, 20 days from today, Georgia will hold two run-off elections to decide control of the Senate. Mitch McConnell's stranglehold on the US Senate is on the ballot. We can't think of a better holiday present than delivering control of the Senate to middle-class America.

This holiday season, we are laser-focused on taking power away from Moscow Mitch. Join us for our Monthly Meeting TONIGHT at 6 pm and for our phonebank with the Georgia Young Democrats, College Democrats of Indiana, and Georgia College Democrats on December 29th!

Monthly Executive Committee Meetings are set through next June! Meetings will be held every 3rd Wednesday of the month (pro-tip: that's today!). Our December Monthly Meeting will include a performance from Indianapolis City-County Councilor Keith Potts and we will get hype for the Georgia run-off elections! We'll also elect a new Secretary and welcome a new chapter to IYD!

We'll be calling Young Georgia Voters on December 29th to give them the vital information they need to have their voice heard in the most important election Georgia has ever had. Their votes in this election will speak for the entire country for the next two years, we need every last Hoosier in this fight! We will have a few special guests as well, be sure to join the Facebook event to stay in the loop for the December 29th phonebank!

We're also excited to partner with other young Hoosiers and our friends in Georgia! College Democrats of Indiana, Young Democrats of Georgia, and College Democrats of Georgia are all co-hosting this event with us, and we can't wait to bring everyone together to help defeat Moscow Mitch!

Alex Giorgio-Rubin is the new Chair of IYD's LGBTQ+ Caucus
