The New York Times: “President Trump has discussed with advisers whether to grant preemptive pardons to his children, to his son-in-law and to his personal lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani, and talked with Mr. Giuliani about pardoning him as recently as last week, according to two people briefed on the matter.”
We predicted early on that Trump was about to go scorched-earth in his lame-duck period. This also comes after already commuting the sentence of his longtime crony Roger Stone who was convicted of seven felonies. And earlier this month, Trump pardoned Michael Flynn, his former national security adviser, who had already been charged with lying to federal investigators.
Trump’s presidency has been defined by its shattering our country’s democratic norms-- but that doesn’t give us permission to idly stand by until the new administration comes in. We need to make it heard loud and clear that we will not stand for this continued tyranny, but if we want to make any impact in getting our message across, we NEED you to join us.
