Bernie Sanders is gathering Democratic support for a new and robust stimulus package after months of GOP obstruction.

He and others from the Senate Democratic Caucus are pushing against the meager stimulus bill Republicans are proposing, saying it "does not go anywhere near far enough" and inappropriately protects corporations.

"Please join us in demanding that any new COVID-relief proposal includes a $1,200 direct payment to adults and $500 to their children," reads the letter Sanders and his colleagues wrote to other Senate Democrats. "Further, please work with us to make certain that there is no language in this bill to give a liability shield to corporations who threaten the health and safety of workers and customers."

Sanders and his allies are working tirelessly to ensure that the American people get the relief they've been desperate for -- and they're going to need all the help they can get if they want to get the bill passed during Trump's lame-duck period.
