Justice Democrats is launching its drive to find the next progressive candidates for Congress to join me, AOC, Jamaal Bowman, Rashida Tlaib, and other working-class leaders.

Justice Democrats Candidate Recruitment

John,

Justice Democrats has done something incredible. In just a few years, they have recruited and helped elect a strong, diverse, working-class group of progressives to the U.S. House of Representatives that includes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, and Jamaal Bowman.

We’re building something that the political establishment hasn’t seen in decades. The truth is, they’re scared. And they should be.

Here's the truth, John: It took tremendous resources and effort to recruit working-class, primary challengers like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, and Jamaal Bowman. And Justice Democrats just launched their 2022 candidate recruitment efforts, setting a goal to raise $100,000 in the next 72 hours to challenge the establishment in Congress. That’s why I'm asking:

Will you join me in supporting Justice Democrats today with a $3 contribution? Every contribution will help recruit more progressive candidates to challenge the political establishment and corporate elite.

The unfortunate reality is that it takes a lot of money to run campaigns. That's why it's so extraordinary what the progressive movement has built together, with working people chipping in what they can to take on the billionaire class that wants to protect the status quo.

The truth is that we are up against some very powerful special interests that have been at war with the working class for decades. I'm talking about Wall Street, the pharmaceutical industry, the health insurance industry, the fossil fuel industry, the military industrial complex, the private prison industrial complex and many profitable corporations who continue to exploit their employees.

Progressive candidates recruited by Justice Democrats in the months ahead will be up against corporate-backed incumbents with unlimited sums of money. But we have something that they don't have, and that is a powerful movement of people who are saying enough is enough. It is time to elect candidates who will stand with working people, not the corporate elite.

If we’re going to find the next class of strong progressive candidates to run for Congress and advance our fight for Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, racial justice, and an economy that works for everyone, Justice Democrats need your help.

It’s not easy to find the Bronx principal who’s ready to reform our broken criminal justice system, guarantee health care as a right, not a privilege, and ensure a quality education is available to all, no matter where you live or how much money your parents make. But Justice Democrats recruited Jamaal Bowman and helped him win a stunning upset victory in New York where he defeated a 16-term incumbent.

It’s not easy to find the nurse and Black Lives Matter activist who’s ready to take her activism to Capitol Hill. But Justice Democrats recruited Cori Bush and helped her defeat a 10-term incumbent political machine in St. Louis.

I’m so glad Jamaal and Cori will be joining me in Congress in just a few weeks — it’s a huge victory for our movement. But there is still much work to be done to recruit more progressive candidates who are ready to continue our collective struggle for justice and create a government that works for all of our people, not just the one percent.

That is why I hope you will join me today in supporting the Justice Democrats 2022 candidate recruitment launch. Justice Democrats relies solely on grassroots donations to recruit and elect the strongest possible working-class progressive candidates to Congress.

Can you chip in to support the Justice Democrats candidate recruitment efforts and help them reach their $100,000 fundraising goal? I would not ask if it were not so important.

Your contribution today will give Justice Democrats the early funds it needs to take on the political establishment and elect more progressives candidates. Thank you for chipping in today if you can afford it.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders
