John, I'm going to be totally honest with you — I don't like asking for money, but it's something we have to do if we're going to keep this grassroots campaign running.

The reason I'm not accepting any donations from large businesses, developers, or corporate PACs is that I don't want to be held accountable for anybody except the people of Allentown. I wouldn't have it any other way.

But when we close the books for the first time at the end of this month, our financial report needs to reflect that we're able to make up the difference through donations from everyday people.

If we don't hit these critical fundraising benchmarks, we won't be able to budget for necessary campaign resources and strategies like digital ads, media, materials, and more. And it's going to spell trouble for the rest of this race.
