John, this is too important for us not to email one last time:

1. Yesterday marked eight years since our children and loved ones were murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary on Dec. 14, 2012.

2. We had set a goal of raising $750,000 before yesterday to help protect more children from gun violence in 2021 – but we came up short.

3. This shortfall means more children's lives could be at risk, and we cannot accept knowing we could have done more to keep them safe if we hadn't missed our fundraising goal.

Yesterday was incredibly difficult for us – marking another year without our loved ones will never get easier. But our resolve to protect children from gun violence is as strong as it was eight years ago, and closing this fundraising gap as quickly as possible is how we ensure we can continue expanding our lifesaving work to honor our children and loved ones.
