We’ll get straight to the point — we have good news and bad news.
The good news? This year we successfully elected EIGHT reform-focused District Attorneys who are now bringing real justice to millions of people in their communities. 2020 was our biggest year yet at Real Justice. And looking ahead, we’re going even bigger.
Our movement for justice is growing all across the country, and every week our Real Justice DAs are making the headlines for the transformative change they’re leading. They’re passing bold reforms to end mass incarceration, hold police accountable, and dismantle the chains of racism and oppression in our legal systems.
The bad news? Right now, we’re falling behind where we need to be with our fundraising and if we don’t hit our mid-month goal, we might lack the resources we need to keep up our pace.
We need your help, John, to make sure we close the gap on our fundraising goal tonight. With a wave of prosecutor seats up for election in the upcoming year, we need to start preparing NOW to support our endorsed candidates.
Newly elected and reelected District Attorneys George Gascón, Kim Foxx, and Jason Williams are already fiercely enacting the reforms we’re fighting so hard to see. And across the country, these sweeping reforms are finally transforming some of the worst cases of mass incarceration and police brutality with revolutionary policies that uplift and support our communities.
But where there’s a fire, there’s also smoke. Heavily-funded law enforcement groups have locked onto our momentum and will fight tooth and nail to stop our grassroots wave from dismantling the status-quo. We’ve already shown them just how powerful our movement can be and they’re going to try every play in the book to stop us.
