Dear Friend,

Temperatures climbed into the 90s and a thick layer of humidity made it feel closer to triple digits, but that would not stop Bradley Poole. At 5 a.m., he laced up his sneakers, and hit the pavement to run 266 miles across every town in Cattaraugus County, New York, in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s 65 Roses fundraising challenge.

Growing up, Bradley never imagined that he would be able to accomplish such a feat. His lung function plummeted with every visit to the hospital. After one particularly challenging stay in the hospital, Bradley grew determined to do all he could to combat cystic fibrosis.

“Once I get out of the hospital,” he thought, “I’m going to start exercising regularly and doing my treatments.”

Bradley now exercises five to six days a week and spends more than an hour and a half each day on his treatments. Two months ago, he and his wife welcomed their first child, Sadie – a bright spot in an otherwise difficult year.

Despite the challenges he’s faced, Bradley remains resilient. “We have to keep fighting every day,” he said. “We’re so close to a cure. We can’t stop now.”

Friend, you can give people like Bradley, and so many others with cystic fibrosis hope for more tomorrows with their loved ones. Help us continue to move our mission forward: make your gift today.
