Team,

Last month, people across America turned out in droves to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — powerfully rejecting Donald Trump's cruel, racist, and xenophobic policies.

The harmful impact of the Trump administration's all-out attack on immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers will be felt for years to come. But we must go much further than just reversing the damage.

With a new Congress and a new administration in the White House, we must seize this moment to go bigger and bolder on reforming our immigration system in a humane way that focuses on respect, dignity, family unity, and a real opportunity for all immigrants. I have a plan to make that happen. Will you add your name next to mine to support our Roadmap to Freedom Resolution and help us build a powerful grassroots movement for humane and comprehensive immigration reform?

ADD YOUR NAME

As an immigrant who came to the United States alone at the age of 16, a lifelong organizer for immigrant rights and justice, and one of only 14 naturalized citizens serving in Congress, I know all too well that our immigration system was profoundly broken long before Trump took that escalator ride down to announce his candidacy for president in 2015.

That's why — with the help of my colleagues, activists, and organizers — we're introducing the Roadmap to Freedom Resolution. It calls for a pathway to citizenship for immigrants, access to public services, an end to inhumane and unjust family detention, and an acknowledgment of the harms of previous policies on individuals, families, and communities — among many other critical elements.

Ultimately, this is a bold, progressive vision for immigration reform that is fair, equitable, centers family unity, combats injustice, and works for everyone.

Today, and in the months to come, we have a massive opportunity to fight for the humane and comprehensive immigration reform that our nation should have enshrined decades ago. And if we come together now, we will get this done.

Are you ready to get to work? Add your name in support of my Roadmap to Freedom Resolution. We need to show Congress, President-elect Joe Biden, and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris that our grassroots movement is fully behind this people-first legislation.

In solidarity,

Pramila Jayapal
