Dear John,

Ten years ago, fewer than 10 states had legalized marriage for same-sex couples. Five years later in 2015, marriage became the law of the land thanks to a historic Supreme Court decision.

As the national partner to the state-based LGBTQ movement, Equality Federation was there for heartbreaking losses and groundbreaking wins as each state fought for our right to marry whom we love. From Proposition 8 in California to the first three states to pass marriage equality at the ballot box: Maine, Maryland, and Washington, we were there.

Donate $10 now to ensure we have resources for the fights in the next ten years. [[link removed]]

We helped the movement shift from talking about marriage benefits like tax credits, to talking about love and commitment. From training our members on messaging to organizing to deep canvassing, we supported the states as they campaigned for the rights of LGBTQ couples.

It has been five years since same-sex couples won the freedom to marry and yet, we still aren’t done fighting. We are seeing opposition in states trying to weaken our marriages as well as a hostile Supreme Court that seems intent on chipping away at our overall rights. We know the fight for the full LGBTQ community continues.

Join us and defend our rights by donating $10 today. [[link removed]]

We’re with you - for the long fight ahead.
