Hi there,

When Georgia flipped blue for Joe Biden, many Democrats across the country heralded it as a welcome surprise -- and an indication of new hope for the blue wave in the South.

However, for the Black women organizers of the Peach State -- like Stacey Abrams, Nse Ufot, and Deborah Scott -- it was the culmination of years of hard work. According to The New York Times, Biden’s victory “validated the political vision and advocacy of a group of Black women who have led a decades-long organizing effort to transform the state’s electorate.”

These women fought against GOP voter suppression even when no one believed in them -- but now, all their hard work could come to nothing. The grassroots organizing that led to Biden’s victory in Georgia is being put to the test once again as Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock fight for Democratic Senate seats in the Jan. 5 runoff. The race is neck-and-neck, and if they lose, it would all but ensure that Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the Democratic House will be blocked from passing any kind of meaningful legislation.

Stacey Abrams recently said that “working with the AAPI community” was part of the progress she made during her run for governor in 2018, and made sure to give credit to the entire “diverse coalition” that brought change to the state. Please, friend, be a part of that diverse coalition by making a donation today. Together, we can elect a blue Senate that will ensure much-needed progress, and ensure that this powerful momentum in Georgia doesn’t die at the hands of the GOP. >> [link removed]
