Q&A: The State of Beer & NBWA in 2020

Beverage Dynamics interviewed 2020 NBWA Chairman Brian Gelner, executive vice president and CFO of Heart of America Beverage Co., for a deeper dive into how the National Beer Wholesalers Association fought for the beer industry and helped shape the category’s performance during one of the trickiest business years of all time. “Ultimately, we are a network of family-owned businesses that came together this year regardless of our brand portfolios to the benefit our industry as a whole. We shared what was working (and what was not) in our businesses, we collected our voices to advocate for smart laws and reforms, and we took care of our employees and communities. We are surviving this crisis together,” said Gelner.

Virginia Eagle Distributing supports their local firefighters

Virginia Eagle Distributing, the largest Anheuser-Busch beverage distributor in Virginia, servicing over four million residents, helped provide critical hydration to local volunteer firefighters who are protecting their communities. As part of the emergency drinking water program in partnership with the National Fire Council and Anheuser-Busch, Virginia Eagle donated three full pallets of drinking water to their local Pulaski Fire Department.
