It doesn’t matter where you live -- you deserve a senator who will show up and fight for you every single day. A leader who will invest in our education system, fight for small businesses, and work to bring down health care costs. Right now, we need a leader who represents Iowa values, not one who votes with Mitch McConnell 99 percent of the time.
Unlike Joni Ernst, I believe that the people of Iowa deserve a leader who will stand up to Mitch McConnell and Washington special interests to fight for all Iowans. Growing up on a family farm in a small town of 500, I learned early on that I was expected to pull my own weight and help out -- mapping the fields, feeding the hogs, baling hay. I learned that if you worked hard, you got a fair shot -- and I sure did.
I took the values of hard work and discipline I learned on the farm and worked my way through community college -- becoming a community planner and then the president of a real estate company. But the values I learned from my days on the farm aren’t the same values we’re seeing in Washington, D.C.
