Yesterday, millions around the world walked out of their schools, workplaces and homes to stand in solidarity with youth climate strikers to demand an end to the age of fossil fuels, corporate pollution, and environmental destruction. 



"Hold me accountable."

I stood in solidarity and spoke with local climate and student activists at the Columbus Climate Strike, where I reinforced my support for the Green New Deal and signed this pledge:

In Congress I am going to advocate for the Green New Deal and be an absolute champion of climate change policies.
Not accept any money from the fossil fuels industry.
And as the Columbus Dispatch pointed out, "Morgan Harper, a Democrat who is running for Ohio’s 3rd Congressional District, gave a speech — the only one by someone in the political arena and signed two pledges, promising to advocate for the Green New Deal and refusing to accept campaign contributions from the oil, gas, and coal industries."

As you can see, the political establishment is influenced by corporations and the fossil fuel industry that's why they didn't even show up! 

If we want to do something about climate change, it is going to come from each and every one of us. We need to elect a new generation of elected officials, now!
