John, this is all hands on deck.

Last night, 20 water protectors were arrested for peacefully resisting the Line 3 pipeline in Minnesota. Over the weekend, numerous activists were detained after Indigenous leaders blocked traffic into the Line 3 construction site.

Actions are happening on the ground nearly every day, and it’s up to all of us to show solidarity and speak out now. Enbridge is ramming through construction despite outstanding legal challenges and spiking COVID-19 rates.

We’re putting pressure on President-elect Biden to lead on climate and stop this tar sands pipeline on day one in office – but we need Congress to take a side and speak out against this project right now:

Bulldozers are cutting through forests as you read this email, which is why we must act quickly. Indigenous leaders and allies are braving freezing temperatures and militarized police to protect the water and stop this project.

We know that when people in all corners of the country rise up and speak out – we can stop fossil fuel projects people told us were a done deal.

Local leaders have successfully stopped this pipeline for the last seven years, and they are doubling down. All of us – no matter where we live – can pressure our member of Congress to choose a side: will they stand with corporations and tar sands oil or with Indigenous people and climate action?

Please send a message to your representative urging them to stand with Indigenous Peoples and speak out publicly against the Line 3 pipeline.

Line 3 is on the same scale as Keystone XL and Dakota Access. Not only does Line 3 violate Indigenous rights, the pipeline would be a ten percent expansion of tar sands. In total, the pollution this pipeline would carry is equal to about 50 coal power plants.

Enough is enough. No more pipelines. No Line 3.
